It all started when I was sound asleep in N’s bag, since I had a long day and was tired. I woke up when I fell out, and my eyes shot open. I was so close to the mud on the road! I was really scared since they were walking away already. I tried to call out to them, but they already left!

And there was no one to save me. A motorcycle engine rumbled behind me, narrowly missing squishing my guts! These were the worst 20 minutes of my life…

What felt like a long time later, I saw N walking down the road again. She came back for me, and I saw her with her flashlight looking for me. “Here!” I wanted to say, but she was too far away. I hoped she’d spot me soon…

Then her light shined on me, and I was saved! And it’s lucky I didn’t get run over by that motorcycle or even get dropped in the mud. It was cold, so when she found me, I started to feel less cold, and soon I was nice and warm again. I didn’t think I’d see any of my family again, lucky she realised I was missing so early.

They all apologised to me for leaving me on the road all alone and in the dark too.

Anyway, I’m glad to still be alive to tell the story!
