Drowning our sorrows (Italian style)

After the thefts we needed to be cheered up! So, once we’d been to the Police Station to report the cash taken from our luggage (so we could claim it on insurance, we didn’t expect anything to actually be done about it), we did what anyone would do in Naples and ate pizza πŸ•πŸ•πŸ•

Breakfast was pizza fritta (deep fried pizza):

Not too greasy, despite what you might expect, but we were glad we chose to get a small one.

Lunch was “pizza a portafoglio” (wallet pizza) which is a standard Napoli pizza folded up so you can eat it walking:

Quite tasty but you get a lot of crust and not much topping in those first few bites which I didn’t like as much.

Then, my & the kids’ favourite: Diavola (spicy salami pizza):

I think I prefer the rounds of salami, rather than strips, but I could be being a bit picky 😁

A pretty good pick-me-up indeed and a great start to our southern Italian adventure!
