In our brief Bangkok stay we were in the Japanese area of the city. Which wasn’t something I even knew existed but here we were! One of the best (or worst) shops was Don Don Donki – a Japanese discount store where you can buy just about anything from lollies, to homewares and beauty items. I guess it’s like Kmart but Japanese and in Bangkok. Except the piped music is their jingle on repeat (in Thai & English – maybe even Japanese too?) and the staff dance & sing at regular intervals….
Here are a couple of the treasures we found in the sports equipment. The facial expressions are just awesome:

The beauty area had a few gems as you’d expect. I nearly bought the kiwi toothpaste, I mean with a tag line like “This is my true self, my inner beauty, my confidence” who can resist? I could have put it, and Dot Washy, into my tender feelings bag and taken them everywhere I went 🥰

The kids and I did have a serious mission here though, M’s birthday was imminent and we needed a present. These puzzles were so cool! I wanted to get the fugu one but was out voted in favour of the cow. (In memory of that cow in India that walked passed pooing and it splashed on everyone except me!)

And a couple more random things that I didn’t buy but those chair socks were tempting…
