Noel the Leon

When we decided to tour around the UK and Europe for a few months, the big question was “how will we get around?”… While we all love train travel, it doesn’t cover all the areas that we wanted to go to, and doesn’t allow for much spontaneity. Driving covers that nicely and also meant that we could bring some food supplies with us too. (The manufacturer of Weetabix has been the main beneficiary of that decision!)

Renting a car for such a long period of time was super expensive, so we decided to buy a car for a few months then aim to sell it at the end.

After much research on Autotrader, a Seat Leon was identified as the vehicle of choice. A friend helped us out a lot when looking at cars to buy (great to have a more expert opinion!) and in the end we even managed to bargain the price down a bit!

One of the quirks of the car we bought was that it was missing the letter L from the badge, leaving “EON”. We considered this as a name for the car, but it didn’t really inspire.

What about “no L” as a name?

No ‘L’

No el

Noel!

Also it’s Leon backwards so it works on many levels 😁

So now we’re the proud owners of Noel and we can see more views like this:
